A search operation by security forces is underway in the Machedi area of Kathua on July 09. A massive search operation has been launched by the Indian Army to find out the attackers of Kathua. Helicopters are also being used to track down the terrorists. Indian Army convoy was attacked by terrorists in the Machedi area of Kathua district in J&K on Jully 08 where five soldiers lost their lives.
