OPENING SEALED VINYL
Old School Cool:
There are many ways to open your sealed records.
Some will choose their favorite knife, razor blade,
or fingernail, and some will take a more cautious
approach :) over the years, we have found that
record openers are relatively safe, but the
difference in a quality opener and a piece of junk is huge! Of course the old school method is cool and quick, but we had good "genes" back then. The friction of rubbing your sealed records on your jeans will do the job nicely as well. The drawback is, of course, damage may occur to the jacket if you're not careful. We have bent the edges of many record jackets using this technique but also have opened hundreds of records with no
problems. Personally, I never cared much about a little damage to the jacket. The joy of the ritual of
opening my new vinyl on my jeans, far outweighs
any damage that may occur :)
