Phoenix Police responded to a check welfare call at Circle K located at the intersection of 19th Avenue and Dunlap Avenue.

Upon arrival officers located a shirtless male on the roof of the gas station.

The man refused commands to get down and a standoff ensued.

The suspect was seen jumping back and forth between the roof of the Circle K and the neighboring Firestone auto shop.

The suspect was seen removing large pieces of PVC pipe from the gas station roof and throwing them at officers and police vehicles below.

Phoenix Fire crews responded to the scene with ladders to assist police.

The suspect eventually surrendered to officers, climbing down a ladder where he was taken into custody.
