Truckers meet at the fair grounds and are escorted by law enforcement officers on a 28-mile route through scenic Southern Delaware -- including a parade in downtown Harrington -- before returning to the fairgrounds for a festival and celebration. All trucks entering the convoy must be of 10-GVW or larger, but please note that hazardous materials are not permitted. There are several special events for Special Olympics families to enjoy at the Truck Convoy, including athletes having the opportunity to ride "shotgun" in the cab of one of the trucks during the Convoy, walking around the festival-like atmosphere during the event, exploring the "Touch a Truck" displays, and watching the parade through downtown Harrington.
