Where in the world do I even start my friends??? Since the last Beyond The Fly episode we have been from one side of the pendulum to the other. Riding high on life with minimal problems compared to that of what we face now. I'm not going to get into the negative b.s. of COVID-19 and how it's forever reshaped Mother Earth. My heart simply goes out to everyone; male, female, child, and the unborn. There are greater mysteries going on that my fish minded brain can't even fathom. I only know and trust that I need to protect my family, friends, community, and stand ready for whatever comes our way. We have to keep our heads on a swivel and question everything. Eyes and minds open, ready to grip on to facts that are unbiased and truthful. I've still got to protect my immune system and conquer the internal battle that rages in my body with Lyme Disease. Now is not the time to stop or dwell on the situation! My friends it is going to take us ALL; the strong & the fearless to the weak & the fearful just to keep our families safe while rebuilding our communities, it will be US that makes it happen. It will be US that become stronger and more grateful for the moments we get in life. And through it all I can't let go of the "WHY" Beyond The Fly was started. I needed something positive to grab on to for myself, a way to feel like I was giving back, a way to possibly help others, and hoping I would survive long enough to find the help I needed during a time when, I didn't know how to ask for help myself. Thanks to the incredible gift of fly fishing I'm truly grateful for everyday I get to take another breath. Grateful for my family and friends. Grateful for the freedom (at the moment) to go explore and chase a species of fish that are beautiful beyond words. This video is dedicated to the pure excitement of landing that first fish and the incredible feelings, journey, and stories that are created after that very moment! I hope you all are inspired to remember and reflect on your moment in time, then let all the other b.s. drift downstream. A special thank you to Mr. Sean for trusting in me to show him a small window of what fly fishing is all about! I had no clue that you would ignite my world with energy, hope, and a moment to reflect on that first trout that changed my life and battle with Lyme Disease forever. Today my friends, it was electrifying!!!!!

This channel is dedicated to more than just fly fishing. It is about overcoming major life challenges, embracing the new, sharing the adventures, and soaking up the healing power of simply "being outside with a fly rod". It has taken years to get to this point and I can truly say that fly fishing is a key component in my recovery from a continued battle with Lyme Disease.
