Very sturdy
After purchasing the box slicer, and bending the tines in it from slicing cucumbers, I purchased this item. Easily slices kiwis, strawberries, and eggs. Easier to clean and store than the box slicers. At times bigger kiwi's get a little mashed at the ends, but a great item to use instead of the usual store purchased slices using wires, or the boxed items with grids that mash more ends than this product. A lock at the base of this item helps keep it safe when storing in a drawer. The tines are more like a blade than other slicers I have experienced. When slicing cucumbers, I will have to cut them into smaller pieces to fit in the cutting area, but I believe the blades will be able to handle smaller cucumbers. I needed to cut the cucumbers for the box slicer too.
