this has been an ongoing maintenance schedule.
pretty much do this every time in saltwater.
I got a proper seal to replace the temporary foam one...link further below
the new seal is working well at keeping out salt... but salt is extremely corrosive that's why I check every time.

This is me doing a regular maintenance service to my (watersnake) electric Trolling Motor.
SPECIAL NOTE; I KEEP GETTING Qs ABOUT SEAL! SIZE = 7 X 22...6MM from thermalarc......... that suits my model snake only!!

I was lucky that I gave it a test run prior to my next outing!
It was running terribly. intermittent speed and slow.
At 1st I thought my battery was flat, BUT NO..it was the motor full of saltwater.
these are sold as a saltwater motor so beware, if you want it to last you are going to have to do this regularly.

PS: after my next use my trolling motor did have a small amount of saltwater in it still,, I have ordered some good quality seals for it!
