Tennis legend Rafael Nadal's silhouette was projected near the Eiffel Tower on Tuesday (November 19) to mark the nearing end of the iconic player's career in the sport.
Organised by Nike, the light projection featured a 10-metre image of Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion and a record 14-time winner of the French Open.
Soon-to-retire Nadal opened Spain's Davis Cup quarter-final against the Netherlands on Tuesday against Botic van de Zandschulp but he lost 6-4 6-4.
That result meant Spain had to win the two other matches to get past the Dutch and reach the semi-finals, extending Nadal's career in the process.
Carlos Alcaraz levelled the tie with a 7-6(0) 6-3 victory over Tallon Griekspoor however Alcaraz and Marcel Granollers lost the doubles tie against Zandschulp and Wesley Koolhof 7-6(4) 7-6(3) meaning the curtain came down on Nadal's career on Tuesday night.
