Dr. Marcus Wilson is President of HealthCore, WellPoint's outcomes research subsidiary. He discusses how the results of a HealthCore study, which examined the differences in care between African-American and white women with breast cancer, will lead to patients receiving the right treatment in a timely manner. HealthCore is continuing its analysis to understand more about women who are newly diagnosed with breast cancer so health plans can determine better ways to communicate with women and their physicians to diminish the disparities.
