The tibia and fibula bones make up the anatomical leg, which is the area between the knee and ankle.
These bones are classified as long bones, and the are part of the appendicular skeleton.
There is an interosseous membrane that connects the tibia and fibula bones. It adds support, stability, and separates muscles from anterior/posterior sides of the leg.
