Houston QB D’Eriq King
Junior 5’11 195 lbs
Recently, undersized mobile QBs have taken over the college football world. Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray & Baker Mayfield have all won the Heisman and have gone on to be 1st overall picks. As talented as these players are, D’Eriq King may be the most talented of the bunch. He’s done things that they have never done. He’s definitely more versatile as well.
He’s arguably the most versatile & exciting player in college football, but not many people are aware of what he’s doing. He has scored touchdowns by passing, rushing, receiving and even while returning a kick. He’s an incredible athlete & will be very interesting to see how he’s viewed as an NFL prospect. When he has the ball in his hands, he makes some of the most incredible runs like Saquon Barkley.
Most people already know how fast & quick he is, but he has a very underrated arm that people don’t show enough love to. While it’s cool to see him make some of the nastiest jukes and spin moves, his arm is what makes him such a special talent. After the first 4 games of the 2019 season, King has decided to redshirt & plans to return to Houston next year.
