Reading a Landis Gyr E470 Type 5394 Smart meter Electric for Day and Night Readings

If you have economy 7 electricity (separate daytime and nighttime readings) and you have changed energy suppliers, your new energy supplier may not be able to take readings from your smart meter. You will need to read the meter yourself and submit your readings manually on your account on their website.

Daytime reading is displayed before you do anything... make a note of this first.

Rate 01 Act ImP (this is your daytime reading)

If you can’t read it because the display is not lit up, you can go straight to pressing and holding button B for 5 seconds. This makes the display light up and displays the daytime reading.

After holding the B button for 5 seconds, let go and press the A button once without holding it. The display changes to the night-time reading.

Rate 02 Act ImP (night-time reading)

It seems that not many people know how to do this, and there are no instructions online for this model and type.
