A special reading to close out the week.
I’ve been sitting on this video all week in the midst of the post trip and post book launch letdowns. After I completed the post trip feedback survey yesterday, I’m ready to share it.
We go back to last Friday morning in Dubrovnik.
Before the bus left to begin sightseeing in the city, I was approached by our guide, Nikoleta. She wanted me to read one of the poems from “A Poetic Journey, Staying At Home ” at the farewell dinner that night.
I had to pause for a brief moment.
How did we get here?!
I mentioned that I was a writer and a poet to her at the dinner after the orientation back in Zagreb. And found the creative branch of the group during the ferry ride from Split to Hvar. The book was being passed around.
I didn’t expect the group to be so supportive. I can’t be grateful enough.
After she thanked us for such a wonderful trip, I had the floor. The poem I’m reading here is called “Unicorn”.
In a way, the video brings this trip to a close.
I have a few more poems to share, though.
