Eh? Outside? Why do that when all of my creature comforts are inside?!

So, this was another one of those soft spot covers. I always wanted to give this one a better shot, do a better solo, and some other arrangement things, a lot of which I actually did in my Mario Kart medley. But now I can actually flesh them out better. And I'm so glad I did because I always loved this cover. Getting to revisit it was a treat and a half. Plus, doing a key change and using the key of the chorus as the pivot, I thought, was a neat idea!

In this specific instance, I made a couple of mistakes when filming. I hadn't practiced enough, I accidentally left the camera on 30fps from another project (don't tell me it looks good, it looks gross!), and I also had a weird bug with DaVinci Resolve which meant I lost the entire edit! I'm not sure where or why it went wrong, but something did and I'm just a bit upset. It's a good thing I got the edit I wanted out of it, though, because things could have been way worse!

Making this cover happened to coincide with Sky Garden being introduced to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Of course, this is coming out months after the fact, but I think it's so cool that Sky Garden was released right at the first part of the booster pack! And yes... I bought it. I have the booster pack and the footage you're seeing in the background of the wides for leads was me playing it. Yes I'm shilling to Nintendo, and no I don't think it's overpriced... at least now anyway. I'll stop ranting before this becomes a problem, just enjoy the damn cover!

Next week, a song from a game that NEEDS a Switch port... please Nintendo!
