Dyeing leather with Rit dye is a simple process. Rit dye is readily available in craft stores and online. Many videos show Rit dye being used on clothes, but not many videos show it on leather. You can do this on finished or unfinished leather. Always prep any leather before working on it. You can use alcohol, mineral spirits, or a degreaser. After prepping your leather, you can apply the dye. Allow to dry before each coat and if needed blend dye with alcohol. Once fully dried, you can apply a sealer. We used a wax sealer because wax gives leather a water proof coating and it is a non permanent finish.
