Hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans are expected on the streets Wednesday, demanding President Maduro leave office after an election that opponents and foreign leaders alike have called 'illegitimate'. There are fears the demonstrations will turn violent in echoes of the 2017 marches in which at least 165 people died. Several small demonstrations overnight featured bloodshed with unconfirmed reports of a 16-year-old being shot dead in the impoverished western end of Caracas. Opposition leaders are calling on the army to step aside and allow them to depose Maduro.
