Day 1 of the trip to Montenegro was supposed to see me drive from Podgorica the capital, cross into Albania and head to #Pristina in Kosovo. As it turns out the weather had other plans and I ran into the storm that swept through Western Europe. Huge winds and pelting rain and reduced visibility and I decided before heading up into the mountain ranges that the risk was too great.
Only about a 350kn trip or about 4 hours drive but was just not worth the risk especially with that kind of weather in the mountains and no snow chains for the car. So I will return to do the drive another day.
I crossed through into Albania with ease and back, no issues at all at the border unlike some stories I have read. I travelled about 70kms into Albania then decided to turn around. So this is not the most scenic video, really me just driving in the rain and talking, and then heading back into Montenegro.
Another video to come after this on Day 2 when the storms cleared and I could get to see the #Montenegro coastline and see what everybody raves about. So keep an eye out for the next one, a little more to see in it!
Cheers and stay safe.
P.S. again this was shot before the conflict started in Ukraine. I will not be making any new content unless it is about Ukraine and the plight of the people, until the situation is resolved. I do not think it is the right thing to do, to travel and smile and laugh and play while people are being killed and losing all they have. I will put out the last bits of footage I filmed on this trip that concluded the day the invasion was launched as I was flying home.
