Well, bone marrow transplantation is one of the complicated medical procedures wherein a destroyed or diseased bone marrow, because of various clinical diseases is replaced with a healthy bone marrow. Now, it has been known by various names. Initially it is known as bone marrow transplantation as we collect it from the bone marrow of the patient. But now we could also collect cells from the peripheral blood. So it also called as blood and bone marrow transplantation. It is also called as hematopoetic stem cell transplantation, because it is basically those hematopoetic stem cells which help in replacing the diseased or destroyed bone marrow.
