In this video I'm going to be drawing Grogu from the Madalorian, using my Faber-Castell Polychromo colouring pencils. I decided to do a drawing of Grogu, as you have all enjoyed my painting of The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda, so I thought you would enjoy seeing how I use different blending techniques to create Grogu.
I start with Grogu's eyes, and blend those out with Zest It! pencil blend solution. I highly recomend using a blending solution, as it helps to improve the vibrancey of the colouring pencils. Once I finish the eyes I make a start on blocking in the rest of Grogu's face, I use all of the greens within my pack of Polychromos. I also add it some of the blues and reds within the base.
I enjoy building up the colours within the skin tone, it's important to use a variety of colours, to avoid your drawing looking flat.
To add the fabric details, I use two different textures, one smooth and one fluffy. I create the fluffy texture by using the scumbling technique, whihc is like small controlled scribbles, on top of the base tones.
