Disgraced Italian kart driver Luca Corberi has today announced he has officially quit motorsport, in the wake of his savage outburst in which he threw a bumper into the path of a rival racing at high speed.

The 23-year-old Corberi had completely lost his mind after being eliminated from a Championship final race and in blind fury decided to hurl a bumper at Paolo Ippolito, who he had clashed with on the track earlier in the race.
Still fuming after he shocking actions which could have carried fatal consequences, Corberi continued to pursuit his rival in the pits after the race, hurling him to the floor before launching a series of punches.
The Italian youngster has now said he is walking away from the sport, branding his own actions 'disgraceful' and publicly stating he has offered to hand in his license.
Coberi chose to break his silence using his personal Facebook account, telling the world he will never race again after what turned out to be 'the worst day of my life'.
The youngster wrote: 'I'd like to apologise to the motorsport community for what I've done. There are no excuses to explain why I've done such a disgraceful act.
'This has been something I've never done in the 15 years of my career, and I really hope it won't be seen by anybody else in the future.
After the race, once I had been called by the sporting judges, I asked them to take my licence away because I was fully conscious about my irreparable mistakes.
'But as they showed me, they don't have the power for doing it, it's written in the international rules.
'So please don't be against them, they were just doing their work in the best way they could.
'For this reason I've decided I won't take part in any other motorsport competition for the rest of my life.
'That's not a self-justice, it's simply the right thing to do.'
During the race commentators working on the live broadcast event could be heard repeatedly questioning 'what is he doing!?' as it soon became clear that Corberi was waiting at the track-side for his rival to zoom past.
As a huddle of karts whirled around the corner at high velocity, Corberi picked his target before astonishingly launching the bumper into the path of Ippolito's vehicle.
The object appears to clip Ippolito's cart but did not cause a full collision, and the driver was able to continue the race fortunately unscathed.
The shocking events were seen around the world and, following the incident, former F1 World Champion Jenson Button took to social media to condemn Corberi and call for his permanent ejection from the sport.
The British star also claimed the father of Corberi had been involved in the second fracas following the race.
'Luca Corberi has just destroyed any chance he had at a racing career after his disgusting behaviour today at the FIA Karting World champs,' wrote Button on social media.
His father owns the circuit and is seen power driving the guy into a wall. Life ban for both of these idiots please.'
