Officer Kicks Down Apartment Door to Discover Squatters During Intimate Encounter

Officers from the Des Moines Police Department were conducting a routine patrol through an abandoned apartment building, which had become a hotspot for illegal break-ins and squatters. During their search, they discovered two individuals occupying one of the units. One suspect fled on foot, while the other was taken into custody and transported to the Polk County Jail. The officers then resumed their inspection of the building. Having patrolled the site the previous night, they had become familiar with its layout. They noticed that a door that had been left open the night before was now locked, and they could hear voices coming from inside.
