Programming older garage door opener information is hard to find. Often the instructions you get don't apply to your touch code transmitter. A couple of the keys on my 1994 Craftsman 139.53635 SRT garage door opener keypad do not work anymore. The remote is 53776 which uses a 12v battery. I reprogrammed the opener using other keypad numbers that can still function.
All you have to do is bring the remote next to the back of the opener. Enter 4 numbers and press and HOLD the enter key on the keypad and press the green learn button on the back of the opener. The LED next to the learn button will flash. When that happens, the wireless keypad new code has been learned by the opener.
I did this with the garage door closed. Have a flashlight handy when you do this.
