This video shows that the polluting cooling canal system at FPL’s Turkey Point nuclear plant near Miami, Florida has failed as three million pounds of salt a day are loaded into Biscayne Bay and surrounding groundwater, which threatens our drinking water and aquatic plants, fish and wildlife. And salt isn’t the only culprit. In order to stop the pollution, FPL needs to stop using the cooling canals. Thankfully there is a solution — FPL must build mechanical draft cooling towers.
