This tiny three-pound puppy came to us riddled with blood-sucking fleas. Poor Eugene was found on the streets alone, barely able to survive on his own at such a young age.
Eugene is a stray pup who struggled with worms in his belly and was deprived of necessary needs for survival; he was starved and had no appetite! When we took this 5-week-old puppy into our care, his belly was filled with worms, and the flea infestation made him highly anemic. In addition, he also ran a very high fever, and we knew we needed to get him started on treatment.
To start treatment, we first gave him FOUR flea baths to free him of infestation. We then started him on medications and special food with the hopes that he would gain his appetite back. It will be a long road to recovery for this puppy, but now Eugene has a chance to live a quality life and find a forever home.
