COVID-19 has dealt dual blows to the Asia and the Pacific region’s prosperity and its sustainable development agenda. As it begins to rebuild and reset, new technologies can help unlock sustainable growth, distribute its benefits more inclusively, and make economies more resilient. However, for this to happen, the region will need a new influx of risk capital, especially for firms in capital-intensive sectors such as clean energy and agriculture technology.
The event was held as part of the 54th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors.
