Tensions were high in and around Ukraine's eastern city of Bakhmut on Wednesday (April 5) as troops on both sides frequently exchanged fire.
"It is like this every day and it is not once a day, it is all the time, every half an hour the enemy fires on us and we respond and silence them," said Naza, a 21-year-old commander of infantry unit dug in on positions near Bakhmut.
Asked about the long-awaited counteroffensive Raza said there was no doubt it should go ahead.
"We are ready, we have to do it, the sooner, the better, the enemy must be chased away. At the moment we are waiting for the weather to change, the mud is an obstacle," Raza said.
Ukrainian military commanders have stressed the importance of holding Bakhmut and other towns and inflicting losses prior to the anticipated counteroffensive.
