Tortuga bay is one of the best beaches in the Galapagos and it is walkable from Puerto Ayora. I loved Turtuga bay so much I did it twice while here. I had to rest from my crazy day before walking around the whole island and this was the place to do it. I spent a good amount of time trying to film a hermit crab and ran out of memory in my GoPro. Right when I was trying to delete old videos this Australian lady runs up to me saying she just saw a baby shark. I, of course, go to investigate and don’t see anything. One the way back (it is about a 30 minute hike) my sandal broke making me walk without one shoe on the HOT path. I eventually Mcgivered a new show with my broken shoe and a hair tie.

As this Video is from DAY SEVEN here is my breakdown of costs for my first day excluding Flight and Entrance fee:
Hotel: $12 (my own room with private bathroom. Could fit 3 people in this room as it had one double bed and a single bed.)
Food: Coconut pastry x2 = $1
Breakfast Salida: $1
Corn Bread= $.20
Apples x3= $1
Water (4 liters)= $1.25
Ice cream= $1 (I had one of these everyday!)
Cheese Bread x 2 = $1
Dinner= $3 (soup, main, and drink)
(Again I found a bakery and found food for cheap. I also went to the market.)
It is easy to walk to TORTILLA BAY from Puerto Ayora.
Sea lions: Free as they are EVERYWHERE
Walking to the beaches: Free
Snorkeling: Free*
TOTAL: $21.45
Under budget yay!
*I brought my own snorkel gear which I highly recommend since I was always in the water they cost me $14 USD in Quito but I got very cheap ones that fogged up. I would recommend getting a better set made from glass not plastic.

All prices are from 2015
Budget: $30/day in the Galapagos for 22 days
Entrance fee: $100 USD (Galapagos National Park Fee everyone pays as soon as you land.)
Visa: $10 There is also a random visa which is $10.
Flight to Galapagos from Quito, Ecuador Roundtrip: $320
I figured since I was spending $100 to go to the Galapagos I was going to spend 3 weeks there. The biggest cost was getting their and the entrance fee as the actual costs of hotels and food is similar to the mainland Ecuador.
TOTAL: $430
