Kenya Airways has been granted a temporary reprieve after the Industrial Court issued a stay order against an earlier decision to reinstate over 447 workers laid off in September last year. In a order issued by Industrial Court Judge Monica Mbaru retrenched employees of Kenya Airways will have to wait till the hearing of an appeal lodged by Kenya Airways before the Court of Appeal challenging their reinstatement. The row between Kenya Airways and its retrenched staff was ignited in December last year after the Industrial Court reinstated the workers on the basis that their contracts were unfairly terminated.
