The SB-U50 will power the Sony FX9 and show remaining minutes in the viewfinder but the LED on the battery is more accurate. About 1 hr 15 min of runtime with basic setup.
(SB-U50 will also work with the FX6, FS7, and the FS5)
** Confirmed that the SB-U series batteries will charge with the Sony BC-U1A, BC-U2A, & BC-CU1 (included with FX6). Also, the Battery Info on the Status page is not accurate.
