How does a silicate concrete sealer work? It’s a penetrating sealer that increases the strength & density of the concrete and are frequently used as densifiers. They have the smallest molecules of the sealers and were originally designed to be “ponded” onto the concrete, pushed into the substrate to get as deep as possible to seal the bottoms of bridge decks and highway overpasses. Not ideal for flatwork because the molecules end up widely dispersed and create little surface sealing.
This SealGreenTV graphic representation video will explain how the silicate concrete sealer works and is applied.
