In 1996, a startup company made by one man created one of the biggest waves of anime distribution in Australia, a company of which in recent years has been amalgamated into what can only be described as a variable empire in the Anime Distribution game in the west.
But what was the legacy that was left behind by such an act? And how did said company get wrapped up in it to begin with? And what does this have to do with Crunchyroll or Anime in the west in general?
Well, today we look to try and answer all of those questions as we dive into the history of Madman Entertainment, the pioneer of Anime and media distribution in general in Australia.
