Bill Safos, who served as a reporter for WKYC for five years, was fatally struck by a vehicle in Lakewood on Wednesday evening.
According to Lakewood police, the incident happened at around 6:11 p.m. when the pedestrian, identified as Vasilios Safos, was attempting to cross Madison Avenue outside of a crosswalk near Orchard Grove Avenue.
While crossing, police say Safos was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound. He was transported to Fairview Hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Calling hours will take place between 4 and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18 at the Zeis-McGreevey Funeral Home on Detroit Avenue.
