The life of a fisherman Syracuse and his daughter Annie is turned upside down when the main character falls into the net of a beautiful and mysterious stranger. Annie believes that the girl is a magical creature, and Siracusa is more prosaic: he simply falls hopelessly in love with the beauty. Gradually the life of Syracuse and all those around him changes, and they begin to suspect that not just a girl, but a sea nymph has fallen into the net.
