The Bluebell Railways annual 'Gaints of Steam' Gala would feature two much anticipated mainline guests who have been wanted in previous years, and finally made their appearence.

The visiting engines were:
•BR Standard 7 70000 Britannia
•LNER B1 61306 Mayflower (in place of 46233 Duchess of Sutherland who's crew were unavailable)

The Bluebell would also run their home fleet including:
•Standard 5 73082 Camelot (in disguise as 73087 Linette)
•Standard 4 80151 (having returned from overhaul)
•Q Class 30541

For this years Gala I managed to attend all 3 days to get a good compilation of footage from the weekend, which unfortunately was treated with rain for most of the gala and made filming (and getting to locations!) challenging, but this didn't stop the giants putting on a fantastic display, including the highlight of the weekend where the two engines formed a "Top and Tail" train consisting of 12 coaches which resulted in a very powerful performance! A very successful weekend!
