After trekking up near the rain forest (here in Costa Rica) I landed near Arenal Volcano. Absolutely majestic as every time you turn around there's another postcard view of this beauty!

I decided to focus this video on the Cacao plant as there were a few nearby Cacao / Chocolate tours. To say these were very educational (for me) would be an understatement.

I started out by jumping on a cacao tour (at Essence Arenal) with the amazing tour guide, Aurielo. He described how this plant carries a spirit so powerful it is known as food of the gods or Mother Earth. It's clear this passion stems from prior generations explaining the many benefits of this superfood.

I then danced over to a larger (more touristy) company called Don Juan Chocolate Tours. I was pleasantly surprised to learn how this tree produces the cacao fruit which then leads to so many chocolate related products.

We were able to get hands on by flavoring our cacao to our liking. It was so cool to walk through the jungle, see and touch the plant and make our own cacao as a take-away gift.
