I demonstrate woodturning a wood platter on a lathe. I mount the blank initially using a woodworm screw so I can finish the bottom. Because of the punky wood I have to switch to a faceplate. I show how to use a shop made tool to cut a dovetail recess on the bottom for chucking to finish the top.
