In what is expected to add to the Bharatiya Janata Party's woes, an audio tape containing Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's voice has surfaced in which the CM is heard asking for favours from another local BJP leader following the Assembly by-poll.
Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh had released an audio tape accusing Chouhan of seeking favours from BJP leader Rajesh Chaudhary in lieu of a better post following the Garoth Vidhan Sabha polls, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday, June 27.
In the audio tape, Chouhan is allegedly heard asking BJP leader Rajendra Choudhary to support the party's candidate for Garoth Assembly by-poll in Mandsaur district. The Madhya Pradesh CM is heard offering Choudhary a respectful position in the government in exchange of the favour.
Urged the Election Commission to take appropriate action in the case, Digvijaya Singh has demanded Chouhan's immediate resignation.
