Stainless Steel 316L Pipe is an extra low carbon containing version of its parent stainless steel grade 316. The lower content of carbon in the ASTM specified sa312 tp316L pipe minimizes deleterious carbide precipitation, which often is a result of performing welding on stainless steels. Consequently, grade 316L stainless steel schedule 10 could be used when welding is required to be performed and in order to ensure that the alloy has maximum corrosion resistance during and after welding.
