United States Senator Bernie Sanders has introduced legislation to gradually increase the hourly minimum wage from $9.00 to $19.00 by 2025.

The bill is supported by Congressional Democrats and will need only 51 votes to pass.

Across the United States, 21 states total maintain the federal $9.00 hourly rate while in Georgia and Wyoming minimum wages are recorded at $6.00 an hour.
