The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is always thankful for partnerships with other state agencies. In September 2022, our media team had the opportunity to travel with a Washington State Parks Ranger out to Blake Island Marine State Park, managed by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission. The northeast end of the island has a collection of Northwest Coastal Tribe's art. Visual media from the trip will be featured in future WSP or Parks promotional projects.
Historically, Blake Island was a camping ground for the Suquamish Tribe. According to legend, it was the birthplace of Chief Sealth, the namesake for the city of Seattle.
