For years I used zip ties and adhesive hooks to hang our Christmas garland on our staircase, but my goodness, that was a hassle! Maybe I’m just not very coordinated but I struggled with the zip ties around our handrail.
Not only that but if you decide you don’t like how it is hung or want to adjust it a little bit you have to find scissors (which always seem to disappear amongst the Christmas decor and wrapping paper) and more zip ties to adjust them.
When I pulled out my garland this year I found so many random zip ties attached to our garland that needed to be cut off before I hung them on our staircase.
So this year I made the swap from zip ties to these garland reusable straps!
Most reusable straps like this come in bright green, but I managed to find a roll of straps in black.
All I had to do was cut them to the length I needed, wrap it around the garland and handrail, and that was it! I was able to adjust it multiple times up and down our staircase until I got it just right.
At the end of the Christmas season, I plan to place them all in a little bag at the top of our garland box so I can easily find them and use them again next year.
This is such an easy Christmas decor hack and I love that I can reuse it year after a year!
