"Viennese Nights" were a popular feature of the BBC Proms annual summer concerts in years long past. In the 1976 season, Walter Süsskind conducted the Royal Philharmonic in a programme of works by Josef Strauss, Franz Lehar and Johann Strauss Sohn.
