A surreal stop-motion short I made with a friend while at CalArts. This film started in 1999. I had just started CalArts and became friends with a classmate, Benjamin Goldman. After the first week of school, we learned we could each get 2 weeks of stop-motion studio time. We decided to pool our 2 weeks together to give us 4 weeks to make something. Those 4 weeks turned into 4 years, as we continued to work on this film outside of our schoolwork. We were finally able to finish the film in 2004 after graduating. Hope it sweetens your day.

"the three of us" is a surreal experiment in animated collaboration, influenced by desert dreams, found objects, an instrumental Ben Harper song, and dandelions. It was shot on 16mm using stop-motion, hand drawn animation, paper cut-outs, and found objects.
