Paddling the Rio Cávado (Cavado) in northern Portugal. As there was really a dry season start on the Iberian Peninsula, one option was to paddle the Rio Cávado at a very low water level. Starting in Monte da Urze, it took us roughly 1.5 hours to pass the "rock garden", before entering the famous granite slides. Due to the lack of water, there were some siphons to be portaged at the beginning. After the ten-meter slide at the end, there was again a stone-garden section until we arrived 7 hours later in the dusk at the takeout.
