How To Make Yogurt At Home- Make Lots of Goat Milk Yogurt With Only A Blanket And A Hot Water Bottle.
Homemade yoghurt is incredibly easy to make. You can use any type of milk for this recipe but I will show you the process with goat milk here. After you have made yogurt once, you will know how much fun the yogurt making process can be.
In this video I will show you how you can make lots of yogurt using a yogurt maker and without a yogurt maker. In case you do not have any yogurt maker at home this is all you need to have:
1- A pyrex jar with lid
2- A blanket or any warm woollen winter cloth
3- A hot water bottle
You can pour your warm milk into the glass jar, add your culture and then close the lid. Wrap it with a woollen jacket or one or two blankets with a hot water bottle next to it. The warmth of the hot water bottle and the insulation of the blanket will create a DIY simple and very inexpensive yoghurt maker that works perfectly fine and gives you a tart and delicious, fresh pot natural yoghurt after a couple of hours. I suggest you let the yoghurt to ferment for at least 30 hours. The long fermentation process removes most of the lactose from the milk and makes it easier to digest particularly if you have issues with lactose intolerance.
However, I think a yogurt maker has its own benefits as well.
1- You can eat your yogurt while it is still very warm. The advantage of this is the butter on the top of the yogurt is still in its liquid form and gives you a very pleasant full fat creamy yogurt texture with a nice aroma. After all we all enjoy a warm food compared to cold ones. Your taste buds and stomach appreciate it more when you eat the warm version of the yogurt compared to the ones you take out of the fridge while still very cold.
2- You can have portion sizes that are already divided between jars. This way you can put the jars in the fridge and every time feeling having some yogurt for your meal take them out of the fridge and serve them.
