Watch as Dr. Tomar drains a large cyst on a patient. The patient came in because the cyst had grown significantly and had become red and painful and they wanted it removed.

While a cyst and an abscess are two completely different things, a cyst can sometimes become infected and turn into an abscess. Skin abscesses are generally not dangerous by themselves, however, the infection that sparks the abscess can be harmful if it spreads throughout the body. So it's important to get abscesses drained in order to properly treat them, and antibiotics will not be enough alone to resolve it.
