The Arenal Volcano is an active Volcano located in North Western Region of Costa Rica. The Volcano is situated near a large lake and the closest town in La Fortuna, where many travelers stay before making their visit. This time lapse was taken from the summit of a famous trail, which takes you along the lava flow from its first eruption in 1968. The Volcano was very active in the 2000s, but has been dormant since ~2010. Legally, this is one of the closet views you can get to the Volcano.
