A rare live appearance by Moonsorrow from Helsinki, Finland - definitely rare for people in the US and my first time seeing them - celebrating the 15th anniversary of their album, Verisäkeet (Blood Verses). And 70K allowed them to play all the way through their 70 minute album. Most bands usually get @ a 40 minute to 60 minute set. They started in order with the first track on the album, Karhunkynsi (Bearclaw) a nearly 14 minute opus. Call them pagan, folk, black metal but they ask that you don’t call them Viking metal. I’m not sure why. A heavy, powerful, and melodic set from the band. Moonsorrow at 70000 Tons of Metal 2020 edition X (10) Day 3 at the Royal Theater 1/9/2020
