Interview Questions to Prepare for Europe Student Visa Interview
The first and foremost question that you will face is introducing yourself. Here you should give a precise answer covering all your details. Avoid giving irrelevant details. Cover your name, from where do you belong, educational background, job experience if any and what you have done before applying for the University. You can add a line or two describing your family as I belong to a financially sound family or there are three members in my family, etc. Where most of them find it so difficult to crack the Embassy interview, let's have a look to most common questions that students face during the interview.
Here the list of Europe student visa / Schengen student visa interview questions and answers.
1. Why do you want to study abroad and why not in India?
Here you should describe the advantages that you will get by studying in Europe. Also, you can mention a comparison of doing that course in India and Europe. E.g., if you want to study MBA in India from a renowned institute it will cost around 7 to 10 lakhs whereas in the same budget you can study in Europe and get an internationally recognized University. Also, you can mention other benefits such as the possibility of getting a double degree, viewing culture through a new lens, studies are mainly based on practical knowledge, acquiring greater knowledge of different cultures, etc.
2. Where did you hear about the university and why have you applied for the university?
Here you can start with, “I heard from my friend or an Educational fair or Educational Consultant about the University”. To answer the question Why you have applied for the University you should do research in-depth about the University. Try to search it on your own relating to university’s ranking, accreditation, courses, course modules for which you have applied faculty, etc. Also, you can learn more about the university via videos on YouTube, university’s Facebook page, Twitter or any online platform accessible to you. For your better understanding, you can even refer to educational pages where rankings for Universities around the World are mentioned like QS World University Rankings [ Ссылка ].
3. The reasons for choosing that particular course and how will this help you in future
You should have justified reasons for applying for a particular course. Do not forget to practice well before you appear for the interview. It will surely make your answers precise and perfect. In this answer, you should link up your past background with the current course that you have applied for. For Example, if you have completed your Bachelors in Engineering and now you are applying for a Management course then you should have legitimate reasons for choosing a non-technical course after studying in a Technical field. Summing up there should be a connection of your background with your future education.
4. Do you know the cost of living in the country you have applied for?
Interviewers expect that you have complete knowledge about the country for which you are going. You should be well aware of the cost of living in the city that you are going to. Also, they may ask how you are going to cover your expenses in that country. You can simply answer that you have enough funds in your account to cover your cost of living.
5.Who is going to sponsor your education? What does your sponsor do?
Here you are required to mention the person who is going to sponsor your education i.e. your father, mother, sibling, grandparents, etc. They may even ask regarding the occupation of your sponsor.
NB: Remember that there should not be more than 2 sponsors.
6. If you get an opportunity to work will you work?
Always remember this is a trick question that will confirm the actual purpose of why you are going in that country. Your answer should be “No, I am going to study in that country and I won’t work as I have sufficient funds to cover my expenses.”
