The Suleymaniye Mosque was designed by the greatest Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan and it is located on one of İstanbul's seven hills. Suleymaniye Mosque dominates the Golden Horn, providing a landmark for the entire city.
The mosque was commissioned by Suleiman the Magnificent.The mosque forms (külliye) part a complex which included schools, mausoleums, a hospital and a hostel.
